Marbet Group

Marbet was established in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, in 1980 as a Swiss-Polish joint venture. Specializing in man-made materials, it supplied Polish and foreign markets with over a hundred originally developed and tested products including insulated bee hives, inserts for windsurfing boards, swimming floats, boats, and road and railway signs. One of our most successful products was plaster floats, introduced in Poland by Marbet and now widely called 'Marbettes'.

This diversified offer was a carefully planned and adequate response to the needs of the poorly supplied Polish market in the early 1980s.

In 1984
Marbet devised its own unique method of producing roll insulating materials made of polystyrene foam. In this way we focused on advanced polystyrene technologies. The late 1980s and early 1990s were a period of a rapid expansion of our activities abroad. In order to sell our products on the demanding West European markets, first we had to meet very strict German and EU standards and obtain all the necessary certificates. We satisfied all those requirements. Since that time we have exported hundreds of thousands of our baby car seats and cycling helmets. We continue to sell them, with our markets steadily growing.

In the early 1990s
we started to produce decorative ceiling tiles and mouldings, offered in a wide range of designs and colours. We sell huge quantities of them, largely in East European countries, thus contributing substantially to strengthening Poland's economic contacts with Russia and other eastern neighbours. Since its establishment, Marbet's objective has been to manufacture top-quality products and supply them to Polish and foreign customers.

In December 1998 we were awarded an ISO 9001 certificate. But we continue our efforts. Currently we are implementing a sophisticated environment management system which stands for eco-friendly production processes, all products either recyclable or biodegradable, savings on materials used, and everything that is generally called environment- friendly approach. Ambitious as it sounds, the task won't be difficult to bring off as the company has long been using modern CFC-free technologies which ensure that our products pose no hazards to health or environment and all wastes are fully recycled.
